An egregor is a collective energy form created when people repeatedly invest thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and attention into the same idea, group, movement, or identity.

Think of it as a psychic group mind.

An egregor is not inherently “bad.”
But it does develop its own momentum, and once formed, it seeks to be fed.

  • Do I feel more contracted or more expanded after engaging with this group, belief, or space?

  • Do I feel pressure to think, speak, or feel a certain way to belong?

  • Does my nervous system calm… or rev up?

  • If I step back for a week, do I feel relief—or fear?

Egregors often hide behind:

  • “This is just how things are”

  • “Everyone knows this”

  • “If you don’t agree, you’re part of the problem”

Anything that discourages discernment, nuance, or sovereignty is a red flag.

Important truth: you don’t “fight” an egregor

You don’t dismantle an egregor by arguing with it.
You don’t starve it by obsessing over it.

You weaken it by withdrawing your emotional charge.

Because egregors feed on reaction, not awareness.

How to remove yourself

This isn’t about disappearing into the woods or cutting off loved ones. It’s subtler—and more powerful.

1. Pause your emotional output
You can still observe without reacting. Curiosity dissolves hooks faster than resistance.

2. Reclaim your attention
Ask: Is this worthy of my life force today?

3. Ground back into your body
Nature, breath, movement, silence—these pull you out of collective fields and back into self.

4. Choose resonance over righteousness
Truth that is yours will feel steady, not frantic.

5. Remember: belonging should not cost you your nervous system

Understanding an egregor isn’t about paranoia or spiritual superiority.

It’s about energetic consent.

  • What you feed

  • What feeds you

  • And what no longer gets access to your inner world
